Illustration
Our characters have appeared in magazines, newspapers, books and other paper-based media. These enhance an editorial, or visually mark a book section. They feature in puzzles, on stickers and with stories.
Disney Adventures Magazine
A long-term client, Disney Adventures Magazine has published Squidinc characters for many years, including character icons that visually represent different sections of each book. Monthly illustrations were also developed for the regular ‘weird but true’, and other features, in different art styles depending on theme.
Hallmark Cards
An example of a project with illustration and design elements, these cards include characters interacting with each other and with intricate folds and cuts in the product itself. Two different sets are seen here: one with a cut-out showing the inside of the card and another where folds enable them to be opened from both sides.
Red Cross
Squidinc has worked with many international institutions and organisations. Here is an example of some work with the International Red Cross on a book about children’s safety. This work includes characters and environments, finished as black and white and colour line art and stickers, as well as puzzle design.
Zodiac Signs
A series of astrological illustrations, these design icons were published by the Asia City Media Group in five magazines, across five countries, in every issue for over fifteen years. They were also used online and in other special features.
